Games are almost complete. Students have completed their boards and all the Operation body parts have been 3D printed. Students equipped their game board with an LED light to indicate when the player has touched the side of the game--just like the real game. They are now working on their game cards which will test the player's knowledge on their particular body system. Great work.
Fifth grade students were charged with the task of creating customized versions of Operation. Each group was designated a particular body system and had to create a game board featuring organs/body parts from their system.
Students had to draw on their fourth grade knowledge of closed and open circuits to get their game board to function like the real game.
Groups also had to create questions on their body system to be used on their game cards. They had to create game play rules and present a game board that would be neat enough to sell in a real toy store.
When we finish the project, we will post more pics. Stay tuned.
